Iron Warriors Force = Complete!

So, yet again another long break between posts, not nearly as bad this time though.

Finally finished my Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines. Instead of posting the whole force like I said I would in a previous entry, I'm just going to present the highlights, since the whole army was in general a 'tabletop standard' project.

 My Chaos Lord

 Warpsmith

 Raptors

And finally, the Maulerfiend, which took almost a year to complete in itself, such was the level of my hobbying this last year.

I've got about two months now which I plan to dedicate to getting the last of my Skaven finished. After that I'll be in an eight-month hobby-free period, so I'm going to make the best of the time I have now. Hopefully I'll get pics up of the Skaven slaves before then, and maybe even a battle report send off for 8th Edition Warhammer Fantasy.

Whatever the future holds, I can't see any Age of Sigmar making its way onto the blog. It just does nothing for me.

From the pits...

Wow, has it really been over a year since I updated?

Yes. Yes it has. Crazy.

In that time I have continued hobbying, but not at the same pace. However, I've failed to post what little progress I've made, so time to sort that.

I don't remember when I finished these exactly, but it was some point last year. Rat Ogres + Packmaster!

Now all I have left to paint in this army is one engineer and 40 slaves. I had planned on adding an Abomination, however the rumours about 9th really do nothing for me, so I can see myself wrapping up the army at that point. It's a shame, but after painting this many rats it's also a bit of a relief to have a clear finish-line.

In the Emperor's Name, Stand Your Ground!

The rumours about a new Imperial Guard book being on the way sufficiently excited me to finally paint my Lord Commissar. I've always liked this model, and I'm looking forward to fielding him on my front lines, providing that unique brand of "encouragement" for which the Commissariat is rightly known.

Iron Warriors + Long Overdue Update

Greetings, hope a merry Christmas was had by all. It has been a shamefully long time since I updated here, but that's not to say I haven't been doing any hobbying! Been working on some Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines, I've actually finished the army and hope to have pics of everything up soon but in the meantime here's some tasters.

 Helbrute!

Critters in the Dark...

So I finished some more Skaven not long ago, this time it is the rest of my giant rats and packmasters. These shouldn't have taken me as long as they did (three weeks) but I've been getting distracted by all the BFG... anyway, here they are.

These will be spilt in into four rat darts in games, should prove a great irritant to my opponents!

Imperial Fleet Sighted...

Just finished what I would call the core of my BFG fleet. I present:

Mars Class Battlecruiser "Sanctor"

 Tyrant Class Cruiser "Dominus"

Gothic Class Cruiser "Judex"

Lunar Class Cruiser "Disceptator"

 Sword Class Frigates "The Arbiters"

Battlegroup Iudicium

This scheme was painted using the Waywatcher Green glaze over silver, and I'm enjoying the effect, but somehow feel my other scheme came out cleaner. Regardless, its a nice contrast, and I'm looking forward to trying my third and final scheme on the last of my fleet.

Voyages in grim dark deep space...

I've been a fan of Battlefleet Gothic for a long time, but only possessed a very small Imperial Fleet. So when I heard the (confirmed) rumours that GW was ending all support for their Specialist Games (except Bloodbowl) I quickly purchased all that I felt was missing from a true Imperial Fleet. Alas, I was too slow to get some important pieces (no Battleships for me :'( ), but I was still able to secure a handsome flotilla.

I've decided to split my fleet into three battle-groups, each with a different colour scheme. I present to you the first of them, my scout force!
My two Dauntless Class Light Cruisers, one with lance the other with torpedoes. I want to give them names that reflect how they are sister ships, but am drawing a blank for the moment.

The first of my Cobra Class Destroyer squadrons.

The complete Scout Force, primed and ready to gather some reconnaissance (and blow up some traitor scum while they are at it!).
